At Romans Field School we use cross-curricular topic based learning to support our children in meeting objectives from across the national curriculum for history, geography, art & design, music, design & technology (D&T). We aim to ensure there are links to the core subjects where appropriate and personal, social & health education (PSHE). The topics help children to build their skills, understanding and knowledge whilst being engaged in active learning with meaningful outcomes. Through their time at Romans Field School, they will revisit and build upon prior learning to embed and master their skills and understanding. The cross-curricular topic are supported by developing experiences, trips, visitors and home learning opportunities at both class and whole school level. Opportunities are provided at the end of topics for children to use their skills for enquiry led learning and to share their learning with other members of our school community.
